About the event
Women Mean Business is a Chicago-based conference, with its first conference to take place on October 3rd, 2020 and will run on the following Saturdays, October 10th and 17th. Our primary aim is to provide high school and college-aged women with a space to pursue their intersecting passions in the technology and business sectors. The Women Mean Business team is dedicated to working towards creating a society in which all young females can feel confident and excited about pursuing a career in the business and technology fields - two fields in which the gender gap is stark and must be addressed with urgency as we move through the ever-developing 21st century. Thus, through our conference, we intend to provide exposure for young women to inspirational female role models and create an opportunity for invaluable interaction with a wide variety of companies, thereby providing girls with indispensable knowledge and understanding of these two industries. During this conference, there will be numerous speaker sessions and workshops which align to specific interests (such as entrepreneurship and financial analytics), providing attendees with experience in professional development, thereby achieving our goal of creating long-lasting connections and feelings of empowerment within these respective career fields, which will carry participants through as they enter the professional world.
